A Student Virtual World Conference on the Future of Collaboration

“While much of this paper focuses on challenges and lessons learned, particularly around technological ease of use, it is critical to note that this way of conferencing was nothing short of Final Project 3.0: A Student Virtual World Conf. on the Future of Collaboration 6 exciting, magical, innovative and fun. There were many benefits associated with this new frontier of virtual collaboration. These include achieving new levels of engagement and global interaction across the corporation. No longer is it necessary to bring teams together in person as the best way to enable productive meetings and outcomes. The effectiveness of the 3D immersive environment far outweighs any potential negatives associated with the task of becoming familiar with the technology. These trials will largely disappear as the technology evolves and corporations develop and adapt their platforms to accommodate this kind of innovative and meaningful software.”
