Advanced Polling in Immersive Terf

Immersive Terf® includes a polling feature that lets you ask everyone in a room a question.  The simplest way to do that is to select the menu option in the meeting menu: Tally a Question.  This will let you ask a simple Yes or No question.  We just received a question asking us if we can do more complicated polls.  “For example, could we ask a question where the answers are 3,4,5,6 and 7”.  The answer is yes and here is how.

What you do is create notes on a wall with the answers.

Select Create a Poll…

Add your question to the poll.  Now you can select the poll, right click and select properties, to set other attributes.

Secret til Closed means that until you Close Voting, the poll answers are not visible.  This helps to prevent early answers from influencing the vote.

The selections are a radio button.  Every person has only one vote.  (People can change their vote by clicking the on the poll directly) If you uncheck Single Choice the choices will change to check box selections and people can pick multiple answers.

You can create these polls ahead of time.  When you are ready to ask people to answer the question right click on the pool and select: Call for Votes.

This will prompt everyone in the room to answer the question.

For an advanced lesson on poll making, you can also change the colors of the notes.  The color of the notes will transfer to the poll to make it nicer looking.  To do that unselect attribute to original author on the note properties (because the notes take the color of the avatar that created them), then select the color you want for each answer.

So there you go.  Very advanced poll creation!
